In town Monoroştia was born in a wooden house, the conductor Iosif Conta (1924 - 2006); he studied at the conservatory in Cluj, Bucharest and London; in 1952 he became an editor at Contemporary (while still a student at the Bucharest Conservatory), then became director and deputy director of Radio since 1954.
In 1964 directs the first audition in the country, a symphonic poem Vox Maris George Enescu, played by Romanian Radio Symphony Orchestra; His name is linked to that of the National Radio Orchestra with which he conducted numerous tours abroad as a conductor; since 1982 he dedicated his life to pedagogy in the National University of Music, opting then, until 1992, for the post of conductor of the Orchestra of Izmir – Turkey.
