The church dates back from the beginning of the 19th century and it was built from ”the bottom to the top” with oak beams, as a chronicler from those times had written. The church has an archaic shape, has two entrances, a 12-meter tower and the seven windows allow the sunlight to enter. The walls of the church are decorated with paintings made by various local painters, the most-known being Nicolae from Lupșa Mare.
The wooden church in Corbești is a monument of folk architecture, representative for the Mureș valley, individualized by elements such as: harmonious proportions, simplicity and beauty, but also its Christian-Orthodox significance in the religious life of an old community.
