The wooden church in Groșii Noi village, Bârzava commune, was built in 1807. The walls were built from thick horizontal oak beams joined in the dovetail system. The paintings inside the church are austere. Nicolae from Lupșa Mare was the painter that adorned the church’s walls with religious imagery.
Groșii Noi village is one of the oldest settlements in Arad County, established around the year 1400, in a narrow and wooded valley.
